Trending on Social Media! New “Posture Analysis” Feature Added to the Popular AI Body Measurement App “Bodygram” That Instantly Reveals Body Misalignment

Detect misalignment such as pelvic tilt using just two smartphone photos! Easily check posture issues caused by “tech neck” or working from home

Bodygram Japan Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Jin Koh) announces the addition of a new Posture Analysis feature to its app “Bodygram,” which is powered by AI body measurement technology developed by its parent company Bodygram Inc. This new feature builds on the app’s original ability to use AI to measure 24 parts of the body for free via smartphone, now enabling users to also estimate body composition such as body fat percentage and skeletal muscle mass—and even visualize body misalignment.

Existing users can access this feature by updating their app, while new users can download the latest version of Bodygram from the App Store or Google Play Store.

With this update, users can now check postural tilt (front/back and left/right) based on five key areas: the head, neck, shoulders, waist, and pelvis. Just like before, users simply input basic body information and take two photos—front and side—using their smartphone. The app then creates a 3D avatar with visual lines showing posture tilt, helping users identify and correct misalignment.

Bodygram even reached the #1 spot in iOS’s free app rankings in August 2021.

Posture: An Important Metric Not Just for Health, but Also for Dieting, Beauty, and Fashion

By entering basic details such as height and weight and taking two photos (front and side), Bodygram allows users to estimate measurements of 24 body parts. After a major update in early summer 2021, the app also began estimating body fat percentage and skeletal muscle mass, offering users insights into not only the external but also the internal aspects of their bodies—all for free.

Now, a new posture analysis feature has been added, especially relevant for the healthcare field. Due to the pandemic, many companies had to suddenly implement remote work, forcing people into long hours at their desks with unfamiliar chairs and setups. Combined with increased smartphone use causing issues like “tech neck,” people are becoming more aware of posture and misalignment. This led to the development of this feature.

Posture correction tools and stretches—particularly for pelvic alignment—are gaining attention, not only from a health perspective but also because understanding body balance can help people find clothing styles that look better or appear more slimming. As a result, more people are paying attention to their posture from perspectives of diet, beauty, and fashion.

On the other hand, body misalignment is difficult to detect on your own—it usually requires a professional like a chiropractor or posture measurement devices. With Bodygram’s posture analysis, users can now check how many degrees their posture leans sideways or front-to-back. Whether you already care about your posture or have never thought much about it before, this tool provides an easy way to visualize your body’s condition and incorporate better habits into your daily life.

Expert Opinion on the Update

Dr. Donald S. Bialek, Chief Medical Officer at Galloway Consulting and a Ph.D. from Harvard University, who supported the development of this feature, comments:

“Poor posture can lead to headaches, neck and back pain, joint and jaw pain, and even fatigue or difficulty breathing.

An app like Bodygram that detects body misalignment and gives users insight into their posture will become increasingly valuable—especially during the pandemic, where people spend more time sitting and less time moving around as they used to.”

Supporting Health-Conscious Lifestyles – Bodygram’s Continued Evolution in the Healthcare Field

At Bodygram, we believe that technology must be intuitive to be widely adopted. That’s why, from the beginning, we’ve prioritized developing a system that works solely with smartphones, eliminating the need for special equipment.

Originally launched as a self-measurement assistant for an online custom shirt brand, Bodygram began offering AI-based sizing solutions in the apparel industry, and has since actively expanded into healthcare. As consumers increasingly prioritize health, there’s a growing need to integrate digital technology into traditional services to create a new level of customer experience. Bodygram will continue to drive innovation and partnerships to meet those expectations.
